Huntington’s “Snake” & “Pooter,” Plead Guilty To Fentanyl Crimes

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- Two local Huntington, West Virginia, drug dealers will each be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when they are sentenced later this year, after pleading guilty on Tuesday to selling the fentanyl to a confidential informant in Huntington, West Virginia.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Anthony Jackson, also known as “Snake,” 59, and Brian Lee Moore, also known as “Pooter,” 37, both of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to federal drug offenses.

     Jackson pleaded guilty to the Distribution of a Quantity of a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl, and Moore pleaded guilty to Aiding and Abetting the Distribution of a Quantity of a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl.

Judge Chambers Scheduled Sentencing In December

     Following entering their guilty pleas, Judge Chambers accepted their pleas and scheduled sentencing for December 15, 2025. At that time, Jackson and Moore each face up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.

According To Court Documents

     According to the charging information and statements made in the District Court, on January 8, 2025, during an ongoing narcotics investigation, Jackson and Moore took part in the sale of around 3.28 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant from a 10th Avenue apartment in Huntington, West Virginia.  During their plea allocution, Moore admitted that he provided the fentanyl to Jackson, and Jackson admitted that he distributed it to the confidential informant.

     Further, during their plea allocutions on Tuesday, Jackson and Moore each admitted to additional narcotics criminal conduct. Jackson admitted that between January 11, 2024, and July 3, 2024, he sold a total of 78.16 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant on eight different occasions. Moore admitted to providing a total of 67.09 grams of fentanyl for six of those sales.

     On August 6, 2024, Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Huntington 10th Avenue apartment. During the search, Investigators located and seized around 338.34 grams of a substance containing fentanyl, the fentanyl analogue fluorofentanyl, heroin, and xylazine, a powerful veterinary tranquilizer also known as “Tranq.” Investigators also seized around $1,130 in U.S. currency, a Taurus 9mm handgun, and a Springfield Model MDM pistol during the search of the apartment.

     Jackson and Moore each admitted they were present in the apartment at the time of the search. Jackson also admitted that he was present in the apartment to pick up fentanyl to distribute. Moore admitted that he was present in the apartment to provide fentanyl to Jackson for distribution and further admitted that he possessed the seized firearms and cash.

     On August 9, 2024, law enforcement Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant for a safety deposit box at a bank in Huntington, West Virginia, and seized around $50,000 in cash. Moore also admitted in court on Tuesday that the seized cash belonged to him and was the proceeds from narcotics transactions.

     Acting U.S. Attorney Johnston commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office, which led to the arrests and Tuesday’s guilty pleas by Jackson and Moore.
