Man Charged In December 2024, Southeast, D.C. Homicide

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Friday, a 24-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being formally charged in connection with fatally gunning down a teenager in December 2024, inside a residence in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, just shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment building located on the 2600 Block of Stanton Road in Southeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located Terrell Oliver, 18, of Southeast, D.C., inside the residence, having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Loiver was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
Suspect Identified As Jordan Battle
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department were able to identify Jordan Battle, 24, of Southeast, D.C., as the alleged shooter in the death of Mr. Oliver, and the case was presented to a D.C. Superior Court Grand Jury.
On Friday, August 29, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Battle and transported him to the Homicide Branch, where he was formally charged pursuant to a Grand Jury indictment with one count of first-degree Murder While Armed.
Battle was processed on the charge and remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
