Wednesday, September 3, 2025, 8:15 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

BRIDGETON, NJ.- On Saturday, following an investigation, a 29-year-old Bridgeton, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged shooting death of Brian Pineda, 25, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, that occurred during the evening hours of September 3, 2025, in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, Terry Stocks, 29, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, has been formally charged with one count of first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and second-degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons.

Stocks was taken into custody on Saturday, August 30, 2025, by Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bridgeton Police Department. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Cumberland County Jail pending future court proceedings in Cumberland County Superior Court in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to detain Stocks pending trial.

Arrest And Charges Are The Result Of An Investigation

The charges stem from an investigation that began on September 3, 2023, when, shortly before 9:30 p.m., members of the Bridgeton Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a residence located on Mt. Vernon Street in the City of Bridgeton. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, identified as Brian Pineda, 25, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, unresponsive, inside the home, having succumbed to a single gunshot wound. Mr. Pineda was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives Determine An Altercation Led To The Fatal Shooting

During the nearly two-year investigation, Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bridgeton Police Department determined that an altercation between Mr. Pineda and Stocks had occurred in the roadway where the shooting took place, and following the shooting, Mr. Pineda returned to his residence, where he succumbed to his injury. During the course of the investigation, Detectives were able to develop information linking Stocks to the fatal shooting.
