Glenside Man Pleads Guilty To Production Of Child Pornography

BEACH HAVEN, NJ.- Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported on Friday, August 29, 2025, that David Lyons, 44, of Glenside, Pennsylvania, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Kimarie Rahill to Manufacturing Child Pornography and Invasion of Privacy, in connection with an incident that occurred in July 2023.

     In return for the guilty plea, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Lyons be sentenced to a term of six years in New Jersey State Prison on the charge of manufacturing child pornography and a concurrent three years in State Prison, on the charge of invasion of privacy. After entering his guilty plea last Friday, Judge Rahill accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for November 14, 2025.

Investigation Uncovers Lyons Secretly Recorded Child And Woman Undressing In A Bathroom

     The guilty plea stems from an investigation that began on July 21, 2024, when the Beach Haven Police Department received a report that a 15-year-old girl had been videotaped as she was taking a shower at a rental property in Beach Haven, New Jersey. During a subsequent investigation, Detectives of the Beach Haven Police Department were able to identify Lyons as the suspect. 

     A court-authorized search warrant was subsequently executed at the rental property where Lyons was residing. During the search, Detectives seized multiple electronic devices belonging to Lyons. At that time, Lyons was taken into custody and formally charged. Lyons was processed on the charges and remanded to the Ocean County Jail. Following a detention hearing in Ocean County Superior Court, he was released on monitoring conditions.

     According to the Prosecutor’s Office, a subsequent forensic examination of the seized electronic devices by Investigators of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, uncovered that Lyons had secretly video recorded a juvenile victim and an adult victim undressing in the bathroom at another rental property in Beach Haven, New Jersey, in July 2023. Additional video files were uncovered that appeared to have been recorded in a bathroom at Lyons’ Pennsylvania residence. 

Lyons Additionally Charged In Pennsylvania

     Following the discovery of the additional videos, the Beach Haven Police Department contacted the Abington Township Police Department in Pennsylvania regarding their findings. As a result of an ensuing investigation by Pennsylvania law enforcement, Lyons was charged with similar offenses in that jurisdiction, and those charges remain pending.
