Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Thursday Night’s Paterson House Fire

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigations Unit and Paterson Fire Officials are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the origin and cause of a Thursday night house fire that tragically claimed the life of a 51-year-old man in the City of Paterson, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, just shortly before 6:15 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department and the Paterson Fire Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a fire at a residence located at 454 East 31st Street in the City of Paterson.
Firefighters Find Man Inside The Residence
Upon arrival, Firefighters discovered heavy smoke and fire inside the residence. During fire suppression, firefighters found a 51-year-old man inside the residence, suffering from life-threatening injuries. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
