Dauphin County Man Sentenced For Producing Child Pornography

HARRISBURG, PA.- Last Friday, a 37-year-old Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, child predator learned he will be spending nearly three decades in federal prison, after being sentenced for sexually abusing two teen girls, video recording the sexual abuse, and creating digital images and video files of child pornography.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus, on Friday, September 5, 2025, Michael Boyd Damgaard, 37, of Dauphin, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Keli M. Neri to 348 months in federal prison, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release after pleading guilty last year to a federal child exploitation offense.

According To Documents Filed With The District Court

     According to the charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning in April 2020 and lasting through June 2020, Damgaard contacted two teen girls, ages 14 and 15, through an online Social Media platform and, after learning their ages, engaged in illegal sexual activity with them. Damgaard created digital images and video files of his sexual acts with one of the children and coerced and enticed both of the teenage girls to send him sexually explicit images via multiple online Instant Messaging applications.

     Following being taken into custody, on September 25, 2024, Damgaard appeared in Federal Court in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and pleaded guilty to all counts filed in a criminal information charging him with Production of Child Pornography; Possession of Child Pornography; Receipt of Child Pornography; and Coercion and Enticement of Children to Engage in Illicit Sexual Activity.

     Acting U.S. Attorney Gurganus commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police, which led to the successful prosecution of Damgaard.
