Jackson Township Man Charged With Murder Will Remain Behind Bars, Pending Trial

TOMS RIVER, NJ.- A 29-year-old Jackson Township, New Jersey, man charged in connection with the September 6, 2025, domestic violence shooting death of his girlfriend, who he believed was cheating on him, will remain behind bars pending trial on murder and weapons offenses.

     According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Shaquille Green, 29, of Jackson Township, New Jersey, appeared before the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels in Ocean County Superior Court and consented to remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial.

Green Was Charged Earlier This Month With Murder

     Green was formally charged earlier this month with first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, in connection with fatally gunning down his girlfriend, Toraya Reid, 28, also of Jackson Township, New Jersey, whose lifeless body was found during the morning hours of Saturday, September 6, 2025, outside her Jackson Township, apartment complex.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
