Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire In The City Of Passaic

PASSAIC, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding an early Saturday morning shooting, after a Passaic, New Jersey, man had arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, just shortly before 3:30 a.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Third and Essex Streets in the City of Passaic.

Police Officers Find A Shooting Crime Scene At The Location

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located evidence of a shooting crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim. While canvassing the area, Police Officers were notified and responded to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center after a 27-year-old Passaic, New Jersey, man had arrived requesting treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

     Police Officers and Detectives responded to the hospital, and following interviewing the victim, they determined that the man was struck by gunfire in the area of Third and Essex Streets in the City of Passaic.

No Arrests Have Been Repoted

      The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
