Police Charge Woman In Attempted Stabbing Of Rideshare Driver

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, a 55-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the attempted stabbing of a woman, which occurred earlier in the morning in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at around 9:45 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District were flagged down by a woman who reported that she had been nearly stabbed on the 1100 Block of 4th Street in Southeast, D.C.
During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers learned that the victim, a female rideshare driver, was picking up the suspect, identified as Inga Hodges, 55, of Southeast, D.C. The victim and Hodges had a disagreement regarding the ride, which quickly escalated into Hodges pulling out a knife and attempting to stab the victim.
Hodges Was Detained By A Special Police Officer
During the altercation, a Special Police Officer who was in the area stopped Hodges and detained her until Police Officers arrived. Based on details provided by the victim, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, Police Officers placed Hodges under arrest and formally charged her with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Hodges was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
