Driver Arrested After Fatally Running Down Two Pedestrians In Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ.- Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel reported that on Monday, September 29, 2025, just shortly before 5:30 p.m., members of the Cranford Police Department responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting two juveniles being struck by a motor vehicle on Burnside Avenue in Cranford, New Jersey.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found two individuals suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle. The two victims were immediately transported to area hospitals, where, despite life-saving efforts, the teens were subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the initial investigation, the alleged driver of the vehicle was located and taken into custody by members of the Cranford and Garwood Police Departments. Police have not reported whether any charges have been filed at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
