Police Charge Man In August 2025 Northwest Stabbing Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Monday, following an investigation, a 34-year-old Washington, D.C. man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with stabbing a man in early August in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, and as previously reported, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, just shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1100 Block of 7th Street in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. The man was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, where he was treated and continues to recover at home.
During The Investigation, Detectives Identfy The Suspect
During the ensuing investigation, the victim informed Detectives that while on 7th Street, he became involved in a physical altercation with the suspect, later identified as Randy Dejon Brown, 34, of Northwest, D.C., and during the altercation, Brown pulled out a knife and stabbed him before fleeing the scene. Following being identified, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Major Crimes Unit filed charges, and a warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest.
On Monday, September 29, 2025, during the execution of a D.C. Superior Court search warrant, Brown was taken into custody and formally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
