Police Charge Store Employee In New Brunswick 7-Eleven Beating Death

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- On Tuesday, following an investigation, a 29-year-old New Brunswick, New Jersey, man employed as a clerk at a 7-11 convenience store was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with an altercation that turned deadly, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old Manville, New Jersey, man.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, just shortly before 1:45 a.m., members of the New Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call requesting medical assistance at a 7-Eleven convenience store located on George Street in the City of New Brunswick.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Markeem Moore, 44, of Manville, New Jersey, unresponsive. Mr. Moore was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Moore tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Investigation Results In The Store Employee Being Charged
During an ensuing investigation, Detective Keith Walcott of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Olivia Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office quickly determined that a physical altercation had occurred between Mr. Moore and a store employee, Taiwan Sanders-Boyd, 29, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, which resulted in Mr. Moore sustaining fatal injuries during the altercation.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Sanders-Boyd was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of second-degree Reckless Manslaughter. He was processed on the charge and remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
