Paterson Woman Fatally Run Down In Clifton Hit & Run Collision

CLIFTON, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigations Unit and the Clifton Police Department are continuing the search for the driver of the vehicle that fatally ran down a Paterson, New Jersey, woman whose lifeless body was found Saturday morning on the side of Route 21 in Clifton, New Jersey.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camela M. Valdes, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, just shortly after 8:00 a.m., members of the Clifton Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive woman being found on the side of Route 21 near the Exit 9 entrance ramp to Route 3 West in Clifton, New Jersey.

Police Officers Find The Body Of A Paterson Woman

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found the lifeless body of a woman, identified as Kamaya Young, 20, of Paterson, New Jersey, unresponsive, having succumbed to fatal injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. Ms. Young was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. During the initial investigation, Police Officers and Detectives determined that Ms. Young was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene. Police located broken pieces of a vehicle scattered nearby where Ms. Young’s body was discovered.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported at this time, as Investigators continue the search for the driver and vehicle wanted in connection with this investigation.
