ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- Last Tuesday, a 35-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, man learned he will be spending the next decade in New Jersey State Prison, after being sentenced to his previously entered guilty plea to narcotics and obstruction charges.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Knocumus Dixon, 35, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced to ten years in State Prison, after previously pleading guilty to one count of first-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Cocaine; and fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.

Guilty Plea And Sentence Stem From A Narcotics Investigation

The guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began on September 21, 2023, when Detective Eric Evans of the Atlantic City Police Department observed Dixon leave 33 South Iowa Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dixon then proceeded to approach multiple individuals and engage in a brief conversation, which was consistent with hand-to-hand narcotics sales.

Dixon then entered the passenger seat of a motor vehicle. After the driver of the vehicle committed a motor vehicle offense, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and Detective Evans located an Oxycodone pill in the center console of the vehicle. When Detectives informed Dixon that they intended to apply for a search warrant to search his apartment. Dixon told a bystander to call a woman and warn her that the Police were on their way. Subsequently, Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant on Dixon’s apartment, which led to Detectives uncovering and seizing over five ounces of cocaine, various items of drug paraphernalia, including digital scales and empty baggies.

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, Dixon obstructed the investigation that was conducted on Florida Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in May 2022.
