Police Charge Man In June 2025 Northeast Mid-Day Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, a 22-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a shooting that occurred in early June in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, and as previously reported, on Monday, June 9, 2025, just shortly before 11:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting in the area of the 1500 Block of Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.
Police Officers Locate Two Shooting Victims
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound on the 1500 Block of Benning Road. Police Officers quickly located a second man on the 700 Block of 15th Street, also suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Both men were immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to nearby hospitals, where they were treated and released.
On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, following an investigation and pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, Kyre Robinson, 22, of Southeast, D.C., was located and taken into custody and formally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Robinson was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
