Student Remains Hospitalized After Being Assaulted Early Wednesday Morning

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- On Friday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that Detectives of the Rutgers University Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a student being seriously injured early Wednesday morning inside a campus residence in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

     On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, just shortly before 12:30 a.m., members of the Rutgers University Police Department responded to a disconnected 911 Emergency Call. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 19-year-old male student unresponsive, having sustained serious injuries. The student was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing.
