STRATFORD, NJ.- On Thursday, a 39-year-old Stratford, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with robbing the PNC Bank located on White Horse Pike in Stratford, New Jersey.
According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Stratford Police Chief Ronald Morello, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, just shortly after 11:15 p.m., members of the Stratford Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at the PNC Bank located on the 100 Block of White Horse Pike in Stratford, New Jersey.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by bank employees that an unidentified man had walked into the bank and passed a note to a bank teller demanding cash. The teller complied, and the man fled the bank with money in an unknown direction.
Within minutes, additional Police Officers spotted an individual, identified as James Grady, 39, of Stratford, New Jersey, who matched the description provided by bank employees walking along White Horse Pike. Grady was quickly taken into custody, and Police Officers located the stolen money in his possession. Additionally, Police Officers found Grady to be in possession of a PNC Bank pen, believed to have been used in writing the note.
Following his arrest, Grady was formally charged with one count of second-degree Robbery. He was processed on the charge and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Camden County Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.
“I want to credit the bank employees who acted with exceptional composure; they remained calm under pressure and immediately contacted law enforcement,” said Chief Morello. “Because of their quick action, our officers were on the scene within minutes and were swiftly able to locate and apprehend the suspect while he was fleeing. Their vigilance made all the difference.”
