Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Investigating East Windsor Shooting

EAST WINDSOR, NJ.- Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey reported that Prosecutor’s Office Detectives are actively investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred during the early afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in East Windsor, New Jersey.

     According to the initial investigation, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, just shortly before 12:30 p.m., members of the East Windsor Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call from a concerned citizen who reported that they noticed an individual breaking into an abandoned house on the 300 Block of Etra Road in the Township.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers encountered an unidentified man, and shots were fired. The man sustained critical injuries and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. No injuries were reported to the involved Police Officers.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing as Detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
