Police Apprehend Two Men Wanted In Two Camden County Shootings

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ.- Last Tuesday, two 18-year-old Camden, New Jersey, men were taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with two separate shootings that occurred in Camden, New Jersey, and Lindenwold, New Jersey.
According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on October 2, 2025, just minutes after 11:00 p.m., members of the Lindenwold Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an individual being shot at a residence located on the 100 Block of Blackwood-Clemrnton Road in Lindenwold, New Jersey.
Police Officers Find Man, Who Was Shot During A Robbery
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, identified as a 23-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was treated and has since been released. During the initial investigation, Detectives determined that the man had been shot while being robbed.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lindenwold Police Department were able to identify two 18-year-old Camden, New Jersey, men, Shamil Ceaser, Jr., and Abdul Tatum, as the suspects in the robbery and shooting.
Detectives Link Ceaser And Tatum To A Second Shooting
Meanwhile, Detectives of the Camden County Police Department Shooting Response Team were investigating a separate shooting that had occurred on September 10, 2025. In that shooting, a residence located on the 1200 Block of Dupont Street in the City of Camden had been struck by gunfire. The residence was occupied at the time, but no one was injured by the gunfire. During that investigation, Detectives were able to identify Ceaser and Tatum as suspects in the shooting.
On October 9, 2025, Detectives formally charged both Ceaser and Tatum with first-degree Attempted Murder; first-degree Robbery; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in connection with the Lindenwold shooting.
Additionally, on October 14, 2025, both Ceaser and Tatum were each charged with second-degree Aggravated Assault; second-degree Attempted Aggravated Assault; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Criminal Mischief in connection with the Camden shooting.
Last Tuesday, Both Ceaser And Tatum Taken Into Custody
Both Ceaser and Tatum were located and taken into custody on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Camden, New Jersey, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Camden Division. Ceaser and Tatum were processed on the charges and were remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Camden County Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.
