WASHINGTON, DC.- On Sunday, three 14-year-old Washington, D.C., boys and a 15-year-old boy were taken into custody and detained after being charged in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred earlier that morning in Northeast, D.C.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A Smith, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, just shortly after 4:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed carjacking on the 4200 Block of East Capitol Street in Northeast, D.C.

Teens Assault Victim Who Narrowly Escaped During Carjacking

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim who informed them that while seated in his vehicle, he was approached by multiple teenage boys. One of the teenagers then assaulted the man and demanded his vehicle. The man quickly rolled up his window and drove away, without losing his vehicle or money.

During a swift-moving investigation, based on the description provided by the victim, and area video surveillance footage recovered, Detectives were able to identify the teen suspects.

Accordingly, later in the day, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, as a result of the investigation, Detectives arrested and charged two 14-year-old Southeast, D.C. boys, and a 14-year-old boy with no known address with Armed Carjacking. In addition, a 15-year-old Northeast, D.C. boy was taken into custody and also charged with Armed Carjacking. All four were processed on the charges and were detained pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Family Law Division.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: As in adult criminal cases, the charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and a juvenile defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”
