South Bound Brook Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ.- Last Tuesday, following an investigation, a 24-year-old South Bound Brook, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and charged in connection with possessing child pornography and sending obscene materials to a 14-year-old Huntley, Illinois, girl over a social media platform.
According to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, in September 2025, Investigators of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit were contacted by members of the Huntley, Illinois, Police Department regarding an investigation that began in April of 2024, involving a 14-year-old girl who was communicating and exchanging explicit digital images over a social media platform with an individual believed to be living in the South Bound Brook, New Jersey area.
During further investigation, Investigators from the Somerset County Computer Crimes Unit were able to identify Luis Stylianakis, 24, of South Bound Brook, as the individual who had been communicating with the teen girl and possessing explicit digital images depicting child pornography.
According To The Prosecutor’s Office
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, following being identified, Investigators with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Bound Brook Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant at Stylianakis’ South Bound Brook residence. During the search, Stylianakis was taken into custody, and Investigators seized multiple electronic devices for further forensic examination.
Stylianakis Was Released Pending Further Court Proceedings
After being taken into custody, Stylianakis was transported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, where he was formally charged with one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography; third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Distribution of Obscene Materials to a Minor. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Somerset County Jail. After making his initial appearance in Somerset County Superior Court, a Superior Court Judge ordered Stylianaski to be released on monitoring condition pending future court proceedings.
