Mercer County Narcotics Task Force Arrests Hamilton Township Drug Distributor

HAMILTON, NJ.- On Monday, following a month-long investigation into the distribution of heroin in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, a 34-year-old Hamilton, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with multiple narcotics and firearms offenses.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, as a result of the month-long investigation, members of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of Agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Hamilton and Trenton Police Departments, obtained court-authorized search warrants for David Maddox, 34, and his apartment, located on Klockner Road in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.
Detectives Conduct Traffic Stop On Maddox
On Monday, October 27, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., Detectives detained Maddox on Nottingham Way following a motor vehicle stop. Investigators of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force and the Hamilton Police Department’s SWAT Team executed a court-authorized search at the Klockner Road apartment, just shortly after detaining Maddox.
During A Search Warrant, Investigator Find $23,000 In Heroin
During the search, Investigators with the assistance of Sergeant Tom Paglione and his K9 partner, Indy, positively hit on multiple locations throughout the apartment. During the subsequent searches of those areas, Investigators located and seized 118 grams of suspected heroin with a street value of around $23,000, a defaced Ruger semi-automatic handgun, a Smith & Wesson M&P semi-automatic handgun with a large-capacity magazine, and assorted drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, heroin stamps, and packaging materials.
Following the execution of the search warrants, Maddox was formally charged with multiple second-degree narcotics and weapons offenses. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Mercer County Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Mercer County Superior Court in Trenton, New Jersey. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to detain Maddox pending trial.
