Iselin Man Charged In Thursday Morning Stabbing Death

WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Today, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that a 63-year-old Iselin, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman that occurred during an apparent domestic dispute in the morning hours of Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township, New Jersey.

     According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, just shortly before 10:00 a.m., members of the Woodbridge Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an altercation in the Township.

Uon Arrival, Police Officers Find Woman Fatally Stabbed

     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered Marianne Straley, 63, of Iselin, New Jersey, having succumbed to multiple stab wounds. Ms. Straley was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     During the initial investigation, Detective Eric Manresa of the Woodbridge Township Police Department and Detective Olivia Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that during an alleged dispute, Roosevelt Oglesby, 63, also of Iselin, New Jersey, was responsible for allegedly stabbing Ms. Straley to death.

     Accordingly, Oglesby was taken into custody without incident and formally charged with first-degree Murder; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Odlesby was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to detain Oglesby pending trial.
