Maywood Man Charged With Physically Assaulting A Child On Sunday

MAYWOOD, NJ.- On Tuesday, following an investigation, a 45-year-old Maywood, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged physical assault of a child that occurred on Sunday in Maywood, New Jersey.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, November 3, 2025, the Maywood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an incident of alleged child abuse that had occurred in Maywood, New Jersey, and a joint investigation was launched.
During an ensuing investigation by Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Maywood Police Department, quickly determined that William B. MacGray, 45, of Maywood, New Jersey, physically assaulted and abused a juvenile in Maywood, New Jersey, on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Accordingly, on Monday, November 3, 2025, Detectives formally filed charges against MacGray on second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Aggravated Assault.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, MacGray was located and taken into custody. Following being processed on the charges, MacGray was remanded to the Bergen County Jail. Following his First Appearance, a Bergen County Superior Court Judge ordered MacGray to be released on monitoring conditions pending further court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
