Woman Fatally Struck Late Tuesday Afternoon In Ocean Township, New Jersey

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ.- The investigation is continuing into the circumstances surrounding a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred late Tuesday afternoon in Ocean Township, New Jersey, that tragically claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman.

     According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, just shortly before 5:30 p.m., members of the Ocean Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Route 35 and Sunset Avenue in the Township.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle. The woman, later identified as Amatullah B. Morejon, 26, was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, Ms. Morejon succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

     During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers and Investigators of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Analysis Response Team determined that Ms. Morejon was attempting to cross Sunset Avenue in an eastbound direction at the intersection of Route 35 when she was struck by a 2024 Infiniti Sport Utility Vehicle, which was traveling in the northbound direction. The driver of the Infinity remained at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests have been made or summonses issued.
