HACKENSACK, NJ.- Last Friday, following an investigation, a 42-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, woman was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly allowing a child to be sexually assaulted.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, earlier this month, the Hackensack Police Department contacted Investigators of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding allegations of the sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.

During the ensuing investigation, Investigators determined that Jennifer Garcia-Mota, 42, of Hackensack, New Jersey, had prior knowledge of the assaults and allowed them to be committed and continue against the child.

Accordingly, on Friday, November 7, 2025, Garcia-Mota was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, where she was formally charged with second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was processed on the charge and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
