Hyattsville Man Charged In NJ Child Sex Crimes Sting

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- On Wednesday, a 38-year-old Hyattsville, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly engaging in sexually explicit conversations and sending naked pictures of himself to someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

     According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, in July 2025, Cristobal Slobodzian, 38, of Hyattsville, Maryland, used an online teen chat application to contact someone whom he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover Investigator from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

     After making contact with the purported child, Slobodzian engaged in multiple sexually explicit conversations and additionally sent numerous digital images of his genitals to the teen girl.

Morris County Investigators Arrest Slobodzian In Maryland

     During the course of the investigation, Investigators determined that Slobodzian was a resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland. On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, with the assistance of the Prince George’s County Police Department, Investigators of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant at Slobodzian’s Hyattsville, Maryland home, at which time he was taken into custody, and electronic devices were seized.

     Accordingly, after being taken into custody, Slobodzian was formally charged with one count of second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault; third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Attempted Obscenity to a Minor.

     Slobodzian was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Prince George’s County Jail, pending extradition to New Jersey.
