Police Charge Two Men In Early Saturday Morning Store Burglary

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, two Washington, D.C., men were taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with breaking into a Northwest, D.C. business earlier that morning.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, just shortly after 12:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a burglar alarm activation at a business located on the 600 Block of T Street in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, and based on video camera footage inside the business, Police Officers learned that at approximately 12:41 a.m., two men, later identified as Thomas Junior Lane, 32, and Houston Phillips, 58, both with no known addresses, broke into the business, and once inside, stole several bottles of alcohol and then fled the scene.
Police Apprehend Lane And Smith Later In The Morning
Later that morning, based on a description recovered from the video surveillance footage, Police Officers spotted both Lane and Phillips on the 600 Block of Florida Avenue in Northwest, D.C., and placed the two men in custody.
Both Lane and Phillips were each charged with one count of Burglary Two. They were processed on the charges and remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
