Man Seriously Injured In Early Saturday Morning Jersey City Fire

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- A 79-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey, man remains hospitalized in critical condition after being found early Saturday morning inside his burning Jersey City home.

     According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, just shortly after 1:00 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department and the Jersey City Fire Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a fire at 241 Baldwin Avenue in Jersey City.

Firefighters Find Elderly Man Seriously Injured Inside The Home

     Upon arrival, Firefighters and Police Officers located heavy smoke and fire in the basement of the residential structure. While fighting the fire, Firefighters located an unconscious, 79-year-old Jersey City man suffering from serious burns and smoke inhalation. The man was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center and later transferred to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where he remains listed in critical but stable condition.

     The Cause and Origin of the fire remain under active investigation and is currently being conducted by Investigators of the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department. At this time, the fire does not appear suspicious or intentionally set.
