Monday, November 24, 2024, 8:30 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

LINDEN, NJ.- Detectives of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force and the Linden Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred earlier this month at a local restaurant in Linden, New Jersey.

According to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, and as previously reported, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Linden Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a fight at the T.G.I. Fridays Restaurant, located at 400 S. Park Avenue in Linden, New Jersey.

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Erik Kuns, 35, of Keyport, New Jersey, having sustained a life-threatening stab wound. Mr. Kuns was immediately transported to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Kuns succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives recovered video surveillance footage depicting a person of interest, who can be seen in the above photos.

The person of interest is described as a Black male, approximately 6’0” tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a black and gray beard. The man, who may go by the name “D,” is believed to be approximately 50 years old. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing all black clothing, with no visible tattoos, and wearing Air Jordan 14’s Ferrari sneakers.

The public needs to note that hairstyles, beards, and moustaches are easily changed. Also, photographs do not always accurately reflect a person’s complexion, as it may be lighter or darker than shown in the photograph.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and anyone with information about this matter is urged to contact Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force Detective Darius Singletary at 908-632-0537, Sergeant Nick Veltre at 908-347-7330, or the Linden Police Department’s Detective Nick Philippakos at 908-474-8530.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously by phone at 908-654-TIPS (8477) or online at www.uctip.org. Tips submitted in this manner that result in an arrest or indictment may be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000 through Union County Crime Stoppers.
