Police Charge Alabama Man In Saturday Morning Northeast, D.C. Bank Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, a 61-year-old Mobile, Alabama, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with attempting to rob a bank in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, just minutes after 11:15 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a bank located near the Giant Grocery Store on the 300 Block of H Street in Northeast, D.C.
Police Officers Learn Suspect Handed Note To Bank Teller Demanding Money
   Upon arrival, bank employees informed Police Officers that a man had entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then told the teller that he would be waiting outside for the money.
   Responding Police Officers went outside the bank and quickly located the man, later identified as Bruce Dudley Moore, 61, of Mobile, Alabama, and took him into custody without incident, formally charging him with one count of Attempt to Commit Robbery.
Moore was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
