Police Charge Maryland Man In The November 2025, Northeast D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, a 19-year-old Upper Marlboro, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with an early morning shooting that occurred outside a club, early last month in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at around 1:50 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting multiple people shot outside a club located on the 2300 Block of Bladensburg Road in Northeast, D.C.

Police Officers Find 5 People Shot Outside The Power Nightclub

     Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located three women and two men outside the Power Nightclub, all suffering from gunshot wounds. All five victims were transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to local hospitals, where they underwent treatment for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

     During the ensuing investigation, based on witness accounts and area video surveillance footage, Detectives linked Langston Wedge, 19, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, to the Power Nightclub shooting.

     On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Wedge was located and arrested on separate charges during the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at a Maryland residence. After being taken into custody, D.C. Metropolitan Police Detectives obtained a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Wedge in connection with the November 2, 2025, shooting.

     On Tuesday, November 9, 2025, Wedge was extradited to Washington, D.C., where he was formally charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault While Armed; and two counts of Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence or a Dangerous Offense. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
