Pennsylvania Teen Fatally Gunned Down Late Friday Afternoon In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are continuing the investigation into the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Pennsylvania boy, which occurred late Friday afternoon in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City, New Jersey.
According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Friday, December 12, 2025, just shortly after 5:10 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of an injured boy inside an apartment located on Rose Avenue in the City.

Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a male juvenile, later identified as Al-Jahmir Curry, 16, of Pennsylvania, having succumbed to a gunshot wound to his upper chest. The boy was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
   The circumstances surrounding the shooting are actively being investigated by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been reported at this time.
