FREEHOLD, NJ.- Last Tuesday, a 20-year-old Freehold Borough, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a double shooting that occurred earlier that morning in Freehold Borough, leaving two hospitalized from gunshot wounds.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, Jordan Woolfolk, 20, of Freehold, was formally charged with two counts of first-degree Attempted Murder; along with single counts of second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and third-degree Hindering Apprehension and Prosecution.

Woolfolk was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending future court proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey.

Charges Stem From A Double Shooting Investigation

The charges stem from an incident that began on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when, just shortly before 1:30 a.m., members of the Freehold Borough Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on Jackson Street in the Borough.

Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A second unidentified victim was also transported to the hospital, where they were treated for a non-life-threatening injury and later released.

An investigation led by Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, in conjunction with the Freehold Borough Police Department, identified Woolfolk as the individual responsible for the shooting.

Woolfolk was located and taken into custody later on Tuesday and formally charged.

Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Detective Kayla Santiago of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau at 1-800-533-7443 or Detective Maurizio DeGrande of the Freehold Borough Police Department at (732) 462-1233. All calls will be kept confidential.
