MOUNT LAUREL, NJ.- A 55-year-old Mount Laurel, New Jersey, man and child predator learned that he will likely die in New Jersey State Prison when he is sentenced next year, after being found guilty last Wednesday on charges in connection with the years-long sexual assaults of two young girls.

According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, following a six-day trial in Burlington County Superior Court before Superior Court Judge Aimee Belgard, the jury deliberated for less than three hours before finding James Murray, 55, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, guilty of two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; three counts of second-degree Sexual Assault; two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and one count of third-degree Providing Obscenity to a Minor.

Following the jury returning their findings of guilt, Judge Belgard accepted the verdict and scheduled sentencing for March 27, 2025. At that time, due to the nature of the charges and the two child victims being under the age of thirteen at the time of the assaults, Murray will face a mandatory minimum of 25 years, and up to life in State Prison.

Due to the convictions involving sex crimes against children, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office has not released the details surrounding the crimes and the investigation in an effort to protect the victims.
