LINDEN, NJ.- Today, January 6, 2026, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel reported that a 41-year-old Wrightstown, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old Keyport, New Jersey, man that occurred during the late evening hours of November 9, 2025, at a Linden, New Jersey restaurant.

Darnell Robinson, 41, of Wrightstown, has been formally charged with one count of first-degree Murder; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Robinson was processed on the charges pending and detained pending future court proceedings in Union County Superior Court in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on Sunday, November 9, 2025, when, at around 10:00 p.m., members of the Linden Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a fight at the T.G.I. Friday’s Restaurant located at 400 S. Park Avenue in Linden, New Jersey.

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, identified as Erik Kuns, 35, of Keyport, unresponsive, outside the restaurant, suffering from stab wounds. Mr. Kuns was transported to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Kuns succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, in conjunction with the Linden Police Department, were able to identify Robinson as the suspect and the individual responsible for the fatal stabbing of Mr. Kuns.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force Detective Darius Singletary at (908) 632-0537, Sergeant Nick Veltre at (908) 347-7330, or Linden Police Department Detective Nick Philippakos at (908) 474-8530.
