CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- Last month, a 27-year-old Detroit, Michigan, man and leader of a Monongalia County, West Virginia drug trafficking organization learned he will be spending over the next twelve years in federal prison after being sentenced for federal narcotics violations.

According to U.S. Attorney Matthew L. Harvey, on Friday, December 19, 2025, Michael Robinson-Brown, 27, of Detroit, Michigan, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 150 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to Distribution of Controlled Substances, Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

According to court documents and statements made during Robinson-Brown’s previous plea allocution, Investigators of the Morgantown Police Department received several complaints about drug activity being conducted at a Morgantown, West Virginia, apartment complex, and an investigation was launched.

During the investigation, local, state, and federal Investigators identified Robison-Brown as an individual responsible for transporting large quantities of illicit narcotics from Detroit, Michigan, into Monongalia County, West Virginia, and distributing the narcotics to local residents who then distributed them to drug customers.

Robinson-Brown has an extensive criminal history, including convictions for cocaine and heroin distribution and the unlawful possession of a firearm.
