Philadelphia Man Fatally Stabbed Late Thursday Afternoon On An Ewing, New Jersey Street

EWING, NJ.- Detectives of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Ewing Police Department are continuing their investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 40-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, man who died of injuries after being stabbed late Thursday afternoon in Ewing, New Jersey.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, just shortly before 5:30 p.m., members of the Ewing Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a man being stabbed on the First Block of Hillcrest Avenue in Ewing.
Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a man, later identified as Jimmy Chase, 40, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, unresponsive, lying in the street, having sustained multiple life-threatening stab wounds to his abdomen. Mr. Chase was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Chase tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday morning.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as Detectives continue the search for the suspect and a motive for the stabbing death.
