WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 33-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with stabbing a woman in late November inside a Northeast, D.C., store.

According to Interim D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffery W. Carroll, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, just shortly after 7:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing inside a store located on the 3800 Block of Minnesota Avenue in Northeast, D.C.

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a woman suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment, has since been released, and has made a full recovery.

During the ensuing investigation, Responding Police Officers and Detectives determined that the suspect, identified as Jasmine Armwood, 33, of Southeast, D.C., became involved in an argument with the victim inside the store. During the argument, Armwood pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim and then fled the scene.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Armwood was located and taken into custody, and formally charged with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. She was processed on the charge and was detained pending future court proceedings.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
