Police Asking For The Public’s Help In Locating Suspect Wanted In Northeast, D.C. Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with fatally gunning down a man late last month in Northeast, D.C.
According to Interim D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffery Carroll, and as previously reported, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, just minutes before 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting in the alley adjacent to the 4400 Block of Jay Street in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located Junior Almozard, 49, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive, on the ground, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Almozard was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Almozard succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the ensuing investigation, D.C. Homicide Branch Detectives recovered area video surveillance footage that depicted the alleged suspect, who can be seen in the above photograph and video.
