WASHINGTON, DC.- Last Wednesday, a 23-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with an online Marketplace snatch & grab robbery that occurred last month in Northeast, D.C.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, just minutes before 5:15 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery on the 3500 Block of East Capitol Street in Northeast, D.C.

Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a victim who reported that they had arranged to sell a phone to an individual they had met on a Social Media Marketplace platform. While speaking with the individual on East Capitol Street about the sale, the individual and suspect quickly snatched the victim’s phone. A second suspect who was nearby assisted the suspect in fleeing the scene.

Based on a description provided by the victim, and area video surveillance footage, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Christopher Kincaid, 23, of Southeast, D.C., and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

As a result of the Detectives’ investigation, Kincaid was located, taken into custody, and formally charged with Robbery. He was processed on the charge and remanded pending his initial appearance in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099 or text your information to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. All calls and information will be kept confidential.
