MILLVILLE, NJ.- A 42-year-old Millville, New Jersey, man learned he could be spending the rest of his life in New Jersey State Prison when sentenced in late March, after being found guilty on Friday, for fatally gunning down a man back in November 2022, in Millville, New Jersey.

According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, on Friday, January 23, 2026, following a nearly three-week trial in Cumberland County Superior Court before Superior Court Judge Niki Arbitter, a jury found Edwin Ramos-Rosado, 42, of Millville, New Jersey, guilty of first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, for the murder of Ramy Garcia.

Following the jury returning their findings of guilt, Judge Arbitter accepted the verdict and scheduled sentencing for March 23, 2026. At that time, Ramos-Rosado faces a mandatory minimum of 30 years and a maximum of life in State Prison.

According to the evidence presented at trial, on November 2, 2022, members of the Millville Police Department and Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 Block of North 4th Street in the City of Millville, New Jersey.

Upon arrival, Police Officers and Detectives located a man, later identified as Mr. Garcia, having succumbed to gunshot wounds. Mr. Garcia was pronounced deceased at the scene. During the ensuing investigation, Detectives identified Ramos-Rosado as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Garcia. Ramos-Rosado was later apprehended in Bellmawr, New Jersey, by members of the Bellmawr Police Department.
