Philadelphia Man Wanted On Charges Apprehended & Additionally Charged With Weapons Offenses

HIGH BRIDGE, NJ.- Last Thursday, a 25-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, man wanted on robbery charges out of Pennsylvania, was taken into custody in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, and jailed after being charged with alleged gun charges.

     According to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renee M. Robeson, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with the assistance of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the High Bridge Police Department, members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended James Robinson-Burton, 25, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, wanted on charges in a Philadelphia robbery investigation. Robinson-Burton was taken into custody at a High Bridge, New Jersey, residence.

     During the arrest procedure, U.S. Marshals discovered a semiautomatic handgun inside the residence. Following being taken into custody, Robinson-Burton was formally charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. He was additionally charged with one count of second-degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons, and one count of fourth-degree Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine.

     Robinson-Burton was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Warren County Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Hunterdon County Superior Court in Flemington, New Jersey. 

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
