MAPLE SHADE, NJ.- Last week, a 27-year-old Maple Shade, New Jersey, man learned he will be spending over five years in New Jersey State Prison, after pleading guilty last year to distributing thousands of digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, including some of him committing sexual acts on dogs.

According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, last week, Hunter Roy, 27, of Maple Shade, New Jersey, appeared in Burlington County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Philip E. Haines to six years in State Prison, after pleading guilty in September 2025, to second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for the Distribution of Child Pornography; and fourth-degree Animal Cruelty.

The guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began in May 2025, when the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Roy’s online child pornography activities.

During the investigation, Detectives and Investigators uncovered that Roy had distributed over 9,000 digital images and video files depicting child pornography, and that he was communicating in a sexual manner with an underage boy whom he sent the media files to. During the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at Roy’s Maple Shade home, Detectives seized multiple electronic devices that contained child pornography.

During a forensic examination of the devices, Investigators additionally uncovered that Roy had made video files of himself engaging in sexual acts with a Rottweiler and another dog, and then he traded them online for videos of others having sex with dogs.

Burlington County Prosecutor Bradshaw commended the investigative work of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, the Maple Shade Police Department, the Union Beach Police Department, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, which resulted in the successful prosecution of Roy.
