Police Charge Teenage Boy In January 7th, Northeast, D.C., Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- Last Friday, a 15-year-old Washington, D.C., boy was taken into custody and detained after being charged in connection with allegedly robbing a victim at gunpoint early last month in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll, and as previously reported on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at around 5:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery on the 1100 Block of Montello Avenue in Northeast, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, who reported that while on Montello Avenue, they were approached by two suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied, and the suspects fled the scene.

     During the ensuing investigation, based on a description provided by the victim and area video surveillance footage, Detectives were able to identify one of the suspects.

     On Friday, January 30, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15-year-old Northeast, D.C., boy was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of Armed Robbery. He was processed on the charge and was detained pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia Family Law Division.
