Palisades Park Police Officer Charged With Giving False Statements During An Investigation

PALISADES PARK, NJ.- On Tuesday, following an investigation, a 32-year-old Union Township, New Jersey, man, employed as a Police Officer with the Palisades Park Police Department, was taken into custody and charged in connection with allegedly giving false statements to investigators during an administrative investigation into the Officer’s conduct.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit were conducting an administrative investigation referred by the Palisades Park Police Department. 

     During the investigation, Cory J. Havens, 32, of the Vauxhall section of Union Township, New Jersey, provided false statements to investigators while under oath.

     Accordingly, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Havens was formally charged with one count of fourth-degree False Swearing. He was processed on the charge and released pending his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
