Pennsauken Man Charged With Attempting To Lure A Child In Sex Crimes Sting

PENNSAUKEN, NJ.- On Wednesday, a 31-year-old Pennsauken, New Jersey, man and accused child predator was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with attempting to lure an underage girl to engage in unlawful sexual conduct.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, Gustavo Sosa, 31, of Pennsauken, New Jersey, was formally charged on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, with one count of second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child; second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault; second-degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor; and third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Detectives additionally charged Sosa with two counts of a Disorderly Persons Offense of Engaging in Prostitution.

     Sosa was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Camden County Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.

     According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Sosa began communicating online with a person whom he believed was a 14-year-old girl. Meanwhile, the person chatting with him was actually an undercover Detective from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit. During the chats, Sosa arranged to meet the child at a park in Pennsauken, New Jersey, for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for money.

     On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, when Sosa arrived at the prearranged location, he was quickly taken into custody by members of the Cherry Hill Police Department’s Tactical Response Team and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
