ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- A 52-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, woman will be spending the next six years in New Jersey State Prison after being sentenced for growing illegal marijuana in her Atlantic City, New Jersey, home.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Monday, February 9, 2026, Brandie Howerton, 52, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor to 6 years in State Prison after previously pleading guilty to first-degree Maintaining a Narcotics Production Facility.

The guilty plea and Monday’s sentence stem from an investigation conducted by Investigators of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit.

On December 11, 2024, during the course of the investigation, Detectives and Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at Howerton’s Atlantic City residence. During the search, Detectives and Investigators located a marijuana grow and narcotics production facility. At that time, Howerton was taken into custody and charged.
