Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray confirmed that Jamie Lopez, 32, who is also homeless, has been charged in connection with the February 28, 2026, homicide that occurred in the area of 140 Marshall Street.

  • Fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon carries a maximum penalty of up to 18 months in state prison.
  • Third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose carries a sentencing range of three to five years in prison.
