MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A Cape May Court House, New Jersey, man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault following a multi-agency investigation that included the execution of several court-authorized search warrants at sober living residences and a private home earlier this week, authorities announced.
Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Tracey Super confirmed the arrest of Brian Leach, 53, of the 100 East block of Woodland Avenue in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township, New Jersey.
According to officials, the arrest stems from an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving Leach.
On March 4, 2026, members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed multiple court-authorized search warrants at locations connected to Leach.
The warrants were carried out at sober living residences operated under Leach’s Sobriety House, LLC, as well as Leach’s personal residence located on Woodland Avenue in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township.
Authorities did not release details regarding the specific allegations underlying the investigation but confirmed that the coordinated law enforcement operation resulted in Leach’s arrest.
Following the searches, Leach was charged with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault. He was subsequently processed on the charge and transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility, where he is being held pending a court hearing.
Under New Jersey criminal statutes, a conviction for a second-degree offense carries a potential sentence of five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison. However, any sentence would ultimately be determined by the court should a conviction occur.
Officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and investigators are continuing to review evidence obtained during the execution of the search warrants.
